The fact that footwear was an important segment of the entire suit of the Serbian peasant is also shown by its layering and diversity. Socks, nipples and headbands were worn from the knitted parts of the footwear, and each of them was knitted from wool of different colors and decorated with various knitting and embroidery techniques. The basic color was most often black - crow, blue - civic, dark red - chub, but it was patterned by adding yellow, green, blue, purple ... The parts of the sock are: the toe, the heel and the throat. Nipples and headbands were worn over the sock. While the nipples cover the toes and only half of the foot, the headboards are the part of the footwear that covers the toes, foot and heel (like a sock without a neck).
