In the folk costume of Niška Banja, the name "vistan" is used for the richest and the most beautifully decorated skirt, made of white cotton. Unlike other skirts, it is worn only at national and religious holidays. Vistan is decorated with bands and lace ribbons sewn on the edges in multiple lines. Above the bands and lace ribbons there is manufactured black silk lace. All the jewellry on it has a special name- "arač". Girls were very often valued by the richness of these decorations, which showed their social status. It was exclusively worn with velvet or velour waistcoat, richly ornamented with sterling silver embroidery.
